- QUESTION. – If I want to replace all or part of my bushes and flowers, do I have to fill out an Architectural Change Application (ACA)?

- ANSWER. – Yes, if it is uncovered.
- QUESTION. – If I have a satellite dish installed, do I have to fill out an ACA?
- QUESTION. – Can I contact a board member for direction concerning any additional information or clarification about a project or the association?
- ANSWER. – Yes, we encourage you too.
- QUESTION. – Can I fish, swim or put my boat in the lake next to the neighborhood?
- ANSWER. – No, the lake and the land around it, is private property.
- QUESTION. – If I make any type of upgrade to my property or home do I have to fill out an ACA?
- ANSWER. – Maybe. Get in touch with the Architectural Committee for a determination.
- QUESTION. – Is it a violation to fly an American Flag?
- ANSWER. – No. The WOA encourages flying the flag.
- QUESTION. – If I want to erect a flagpole do I need an ACA?
- QUESTION. – Is there a neighborhood wide garage sale?
- ANSWER. – No. The board discontinued this practice due to lack of participation. The board is reviewing that decision.
- QUESTION. – Can I put up signs all over the neighborhood advertising my garage sale?
- QUESTION. – If I want to replace a section of fence or replace my outbuilding, do I have to fill out an ACA?
- QUESTION. – Do I have to repair my fence or keep the fence line free of vines, bushes or trees if I live next to a wooded area or field?
- QUESTION. – Can I put my garbage can or rubbish out on the curb the morning the day before a trash pickup day?
- ANSWER. – No. Cans and rubbish can be put out after 6 pm the day before a trash day.
- QUESTION. – Is it a violation to put trash and rubbish out on the curb on non-trash days?
- ANSWER. – Yes. Exceptions will be made if trees or large bushes are cut down. The board recommends that if at all possible, this needs to be done the day before trash day.
- QUESTION. – Can I leave paint cans on the curb for pickup on trash day?
- ANSWER. – No. Southaven will not pick them up. They’re considered hazardous.
- QUESTION. – Do I need to pick up my dog waste if I am walking my dog(s)?
- ANSWER. – Yes, as a common courtesy. There have been complaints to the board about this issue.
- QUESTION. – Can I rent a room out in my residence?
- ANSWER. – No. It is not allowed per the covenants.
- QUESTION. – Can two families live in a house?
- ANSWER. – No. According to the covenants all residents are single family.
- QUESTION. – Will speeding in the neighborhood be reported?
- ANSWER. – Yes. There have been a lot of complained to the board for speeding and running stop signs. All residents are encouraged to call the Southaven Police Dept. non-emergency line and report these incidents.
- QUESTION. – If I damage a common area fence that is next to my property, am I responsible for the repair?
- QUESTION. – Can I throw grass clippings or tree or landscaping clippings, trash, rubbish or any other items on the undeveloped land around the neighborhood?
- ANSWER. – No. This land is private property and the owners frown upon this type of activity.
- QUESTION. – If I receive a covenant violation citation postcard, will I be responsible for the fine?
- ANSWER. – Yes. The association board has the authority to levy and collect fines for violations.
- QUESTION. – Can a leave a television or computer on the curb for the city to pick up on trash day?
- ANSWER. – No. These items are considered hazardous materials and will not be picked up.
- QUESTION. – When the city picks up debris I have put on the curb. Will I be responsible for any residual left on the street and curb?
- ANSWER. – Yes. It needs to be cleaned up.
- QUESTION. – Can I put old car batteries out on the curb for the city to pick up?
- ANSWER. – No. The city will not pick these items up since they are considered hazardous materials.
- QUESTION. – Can I bring my commercial work truck home and park it over night or on the weekends.
- ANSWER. – No. Commercials vehicles are not allowed.
